Abstrakt:

The thesis that the variability of the conditions of the organization's functioning has an impact on the decisions made related to their functioning is the starting point for achieving the assumed goal and presenting the results of research. The aim of the research was to demonstrate the importance of the information system in the organization and to show the impact of information on the decision-making process, also in terms of shaping the future. As a result of the analysis of a number of theoretical studies, also containing the results of the conducted research, six conclusions were drawn. They clearly prove that the basis of any decision should be reliable information. This is strongly emphasized in the article. It also showed the need to take actions aimed at obtaining, relatively quickly, the necessary information to create the basis for favorable decisions for companies that operate in changing conditions. High information competences of managers are also indispensable. The analyses carried out clearly indicate that decision-making and information must be closely related. The results of scientific investigations contained in the publication also indicate the role to be played by the information system in the organization, which, although it consists of three stages, they are logically related, these phases are characterized by scientific pragmatism. It is claimed that without information there is no decision. In the article, the adopted approach made it possible to obtain a cross-cutting character of the presentation of research results, at the same time providing grounds for further, extended research on this extremely important and current problem, especially in the context of internationalization of a number of phenomena and processes.
